What We Believe
We believe there is one God who lives forever. We believe in the trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is God's Word to the world, speaking to us with authority and without error.
We believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ the Son, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death for us on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father, and that He will return (second coming).
We believe that all mankind is lost in sin and need to turn from it and trust personally in the Savior, Jesus Christ. All need to be born anew by the Holy Spirit's power into God's family.
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in us as believers and brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control into our lives. He gives us spiritual gifts including speaking of tongues, prophesying, and healing among others.
We believe in eternal life for the believer and eternal judgment for the lost.
We believe in baptism after salvation, as the word of God says: believe and be baptised.
We believe in unity for all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and seek community together: we want to become more like Him in every way, who is the head of His body, the Church. We are called to love Him and one another and are enabled to do this only as His life flows through us.
We believe the Scriptures teach that marriage is the covenanting together of one man and one woman in a union to the exclusion of all others. This union is established by an authorised ceremony under God. Marriage is a unique reflection of God’s faithful love for all humankind. The relationship of husband and wife, as family, reflects the covenanting self-giving love between Christ and His Bride, the Church. The pledge of mutual faithfulness is not tentative or conditional. The permanent nature of the marriage bond gives security and promotes the development of a trusting relationship. The Church has a responsibility to care for, nurture and prayerfully support the marriage relationship and the children of the union.
With a deep hunger for the more of God, a group of believers in the region, came together from different churches in 2010 to start doing the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry together. Since then weekly meetings have continued and God called us into ministry in 2019, at which time Bethel the Lakes was birthed in a home, but quickly grew and we moved to Malt Kiln Village Hall.
Rob attended Rhema Bible School in 1984.
Tracey is qualified Optometrist and felt a calling to go to bible school in 2007. She studied through Life Christian University, and has a Bachelors in Theology.
We serve the local communities of Ulverston, Barrow-in-Furness, Dalton-in-Furness, Askam, Ireleth and the South Lakes Region.
God is with us. He is present, tangible and loves to manifest His presence, power and glory. We are hungry to intentionally experience God and be immersed in the fire of His love in our personal lives and our church gatherings.
God is worthy and Heaven is perpetually worshiping Him for who He is. It is our joy to glorify God above all else and in all circumstances. We intentionally position ourselves to be worshippers as individuals and when we gather together.
God is alive, relational, always speaking and wants to be pro-actively involved in our lives. Through prayer, studying God’s word and the pursuit of intimacy with Him, we know his voice and grow in obedience to His will. As lovers of Jesus we are longing for His return.
God is moved by our hearts and invites us to lovingly pursue Him. We passionately desire to seek God with perseverance and experiencing Him makes the impossible possible here on earth, as it is in heaven. Our faith is in the God of the impossible.
God loves His church. It’s His perfect plan to reveal and establish his Kingdom on earth through local churches. We cherish and honour His presence in the gathered church, welcoming manifestations of His glory. We honour and recognise the five-fold ministries of Jesus in the churches. These churches also function to love, equip and launch people into their destinies; transforming their spheres of influence.
God is good. He is glorified when we enjoy him forever. Knowing who we are in Christ, we live in his pleasure, unshakeable joy, rest and peace. We cultivate a lifestyle anchored in God, which is fun and sustainable.
God is glorious. We pursue the divine invitation of knowing God and being impacted by His glory in real, tangible, course-correcting, life-changing ways. These defining moments are vital and become catalysts for growth in relationship, character and anointing.
God is Love. We were created by Love and for Love. Everybody needs to feel, know, and experience the unconditional, extravagant love of Father God. We live with God as our true Father, just like Jesus did, and His love revolutionizes our lives.
God is One: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. At the Cross, Christ Jesus, the Son of God, took our sin and death, so that we could receive HIS righteousness and eternal life, through salvation. When speaking about The Holy Spirit, the bible says to those that have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour; "Do you not know that your body is the temple of The Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God..." 1 Cor 6:19.
God’s power and anointing flow through us just as it did through Jesus and His Disciples. Acts 1:8 says: " But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you." We purposefully partner with the Holy Spirit, to heal the sick by experiencing the power of God. (Matt 10:8)
God is Spirit. We experience relationship with God in Spirit and in truth. We are led by the Holy Spirit who gives us insight, understanding and wisdom in the knowledge of God as we read, study, meditate, preach, honour and obey the scriptures of the Bible, the Word of God.
God is King and his Kingdom is always advancing. As the Father sent Jesus into the world to declare and demonstrate His Kingdom, so Jesus has sent us. Together in Christ, we have power and authority to influence our families, marketplaces, cities and nations. We change the world through Presence based churches, missions, ministries and marketplace organisations.
God is salvation. Christ Jesus is the centre of our faith and we are made one with Him through His death and resurrection. We want to see the world come to know Jesus and experience the freedom, authority and transformation of a life surrendered to Him as His disciples.
We are called to become like Jesus, not just in our outward actions but in our inner being. God desires for each of us to intentionally enter into this continuing journey of transformation, wholeness and maturity [through healthy connection with God and others].
God is real. True godly identity and grace makes us safe to be transparent. Knowing who we are in Christ allows us to be vulnerable and transparent in our relationships and our ministry. We believe that growth starts with humility and authenticity.
God is an open-handed giver who delights in providing for us. We want to imitate God in his generosity and demonstrate faith and trust in him, being generous in all areas of life.
God is a long-range multi-generational thinker. We intentionally develop leaders and raise spiritual sons and daughters to become excellent mothers and fathers in the Kingdom. We honour men and women in leadership alongside one another developing a healthy family culture through loving and empowering others.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne, and remembering the poor is His apostolic call to the church. We aim to love and serve the poor and the oppressed.
You are most welcome to come along and join us this Sunday.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT BECOMING PART OF GODS FAMILY?
The bible tells us that we have all sinned. We all have told a lie, or thought bad thoughts about someone. Even though we may try and live a perfect life, it is impossible and good works don't earn us a place in heaven. We know that sin separates us from God.
Rom 3:23 says:
" For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
The punishment for sin is death-eternal separation from God.
Rom 6:23 says:
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus."
How awesome is that- God made a plan so that we could be restored back to right relationship with HIM and not have to spend eternity in hell.
He sent Jesus to die for our sins, so that we can be restored to right relationship with God.
John 3:16 says:
" For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
So there is this amazing plan of redemption, but how do you get it?
God made it really easy!
The bible says in
Romans 10:9
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED."
So all you need to do is believe and confess. If you would like to ask Jesus into your life you can pray this prayer:
" Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that the payment for sin is death. Please forgive me for every sin I have committed. I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead.I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today. Come into my life. Please wash me clean from sin and make me new.
In Jesus name. Amen."
If you have prayed this prayer, the angels in heaven are rejoicing and so are we. Please send us a message to let us know that you have prayed this awesome prayer of Salvation. God bless you!
